Goal 1 of the UN Sustainable Development Agenda aims to eradicate poverty in all its forms by 2030. This includes ending extreme poverty, reducing the number of people living below the national poverty line, expanding social protection, and ensuring access to basic services and resources for all, especially vulnerable groups. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University contributes by supporting socially vulnerable students and communities through financial aid and social programs.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is committed to advancing SDG 1: No Poverty by ensuring equitable access to higher education, empowering disadvantaged communities, and fostering social innovation that reduces economic inequality. The university’s strategic goal is to provide inclusive educational opportunities and systemic social support for students from low-income households, as well as to contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of local and regional communities through education, research, and entrepreneurship.
