SDG 4 - Quality Education

SDG 4 - QUALITY EDUCATION

The United Nations integrates education for sustainable development within SDG 4, which is directly linked to SDG 17. SDG 4 addresses the education of young children and lifelong learning. Education serves as a primary pathway to address inequality, particularly intergenerational inequality. In addition to enhancing quality of life, access to inclusive education can empower local residents with the tools needed to develop innovative solutions to global challenges. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) is committed to achieving optimal outcomes in enhancing educational quality in accordance with the principles of SDG 4.

Education at KazNU is accessible regardless of ethnicity, religion, disability, or gender. The academic policy of the university follows two concepts of modern education:

The concept of open education - education without academic requirements for admission, often assumed to be conducted online. "Open" education expands access to learning offered in schools and universities. One aspect of open education is the development and implementation of open educational resources.

The concept of lifelong learning, the process of developing educational (general and professional) potential throughout a person's life based on the use of state and public institutions and in accordance with individual and societal needs.
