News: Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Launches "Sports Management" Summer School

The Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is delighted to announce the successful launch of the "Sports Management" summer school. This significant event is made possible through productive collaboration between universities and the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany.
Today, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) places special emphasis on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To achieve these goals, the Pan-Gi Moon Institute for Sustainable Development has been established and is effectively functioning. The partnership aspects related to SDGs are comprehensively addressed in numerous scientific and educational projects at KazNU. In this context, senior expert of the Institute for Sustainable Development, S.Kh. Abdugazieva, attended one of the lectures of the summer school and engaged in conversation with participants and lecturers.
Professor Frank Daumann (Friedrich Schiller University Jena) envisions the potential of sports management to facilitate the transition from amateur sports enthusiasts to professional athletes. Professor Frank Daumann asserts that the future development of sports management in Kazakhstan will not only contribute to the advancement of sports but also lead to the creation of new employment opportunities. Mr. I.I. Krugovykh, a lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Sports and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management, shared his impressions of the summer school. He expressed his enthusiasm to participate in the summer school, learn from leading German specialists, and gain insights into time management.
This event harmoniously aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. SDG3 (Good Health and Well-being) is reflected in the field of physical education and sports, promoting enhanced health and quality of life. SDG17 (Partnerships) underscores the significance of collaboration between universities and organizations, exemplified here by Friedrich Schiller University and the German Academic Exchange Service. SDG4 (Quality Education) serves as the foundation for this initiative, supporting knowledge expansion and student development.
