KazNU celebrates anniversary of "Ana tili" newspaper

The al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a round table on the topic "Modern Journalism: Experience, science, innovation", dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the founding of the national newspaper "Ana tili" and the Day of Media Workers.

 

The event was attended by Margulan Ibraimov, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, media executives, scientists, professors and teachers.

A press tour was organized before the event. The participants got acquainted with the work of the Earth Remote Sensing Center, the supercomputer cluster and the Farabi Hub Center for Innovative Products and High-tech Projects. A video about the university's achievements was also shown.

Vice Rector Margulan Ibraimov read out a congratulatory letter on behalf of the Chairman of the Board, Rector of Al–Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev. The letter noted that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in an interview with the Ana tili newspaper, said: "Reading periodicals is a habit that has entered my life since my youth. I also read the newspaper "Ana tili" all the time. The range of my information sources is quite wide – it's television, the Internet, social networks, not to mention the materials that I receive every day from various departments. I am closely following all the trends in the information space. The importance of written texts should not be underestimated, they still serve as an important source of information about government policy." –In the modern era, the information policy of the state should be reflected in the media. KazNU pays priority attention to the creative thinking of students and mastering the managerial and marketing aspects of the profession in a market environment". - the letter says.

The event was attended by: Deputy Director of "Kazakh gazetteri" Yesey Zhenisuly, chief editor of the newspaper "Kazakh literaturi" Bauyrzhan Zhakyp, head of the Department of research intelligence and Big Data kaznu, associate professor Madina Mansurova.
