As part of the official visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the People's Republic of China, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and "Yuan Zhen" Investment company signed an agreement on cooperation in the development, production and implementation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The signing ceremony of an important agreement and the exchange of documents took place within the framework of the meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council in Beijing. The document was signed by Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Management Board and Rector of Al–Farabi Kazakh National University, and Tang Jiulong, CEO of Yuan Zhen Investment Company.

Компания «Юань Чжэнь», основанная в Казахстане в 2024 году, развивает индустрию БПЛА по интегрированной модели «Образование – наука – производство – сбыт». В рамках соглашения создан консорциум с участием КазНУ, объединяющий подготовку инженерных кадров, проведение научно-исследовательских и опытно-конструкторских работ (НИОКР), серийное производство и вывод продукции на международные рынки.

In China, Yuanzhen cooperates with such key partners as Shaanxi Overseas Investment Group, Xi'an Aviation Investment Future Development Group, as well as the Institute of Civil Aviation of Northwestern Polytechnic University.

The initial investment amount is 5 billion yuan (CNY). By 2027, it is planned to launch mass production of several UAV models and open its own testing center that meets international standards. The main sales markets are the countries of Central Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

This project promotes the internationalization of higher education, expands academic and scientific cooperation, provides an exchange of experience with foreign partners, and creates a platform for joint implementation of educational and research initiatives.

For Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, this is another step towards the formation of a modern scientific and educational hub of international level.
