Al-Farabi KazNU has developed a mobile unit for preparation, treatment and desalination of technical and waste water.
The project was released as a result of collaboration with D.I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical-Technological University. This unit, developed by Dr. Azhar Baeshova and other scientists, has been granted a utility model patent of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The design of the mobile unit allows to purify water from calcium and magnesium cations that cause water hardness, along with purification from suspended solids, emulsified oil products, dissolved and dispersed organic compounds, non-ferrous and heavy metal compounds, surfactants, mechanical impurities with subsequent desalination of water. The degree of purification from calcium and magnesium cations is 100%, from suspended solids - 100%, from emulsified oil products - 100%, from dissolved organic compounds - 100%, from surfactants - 100%, from mechanical impurities - 100%, from non-ferrous and heavy metal compounds - 99.9%, from salt content - 95%.
The mobile plant meets the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular "Ensuring availability and sustainable use of water resources and sanitation for all".
